Iberia (IB) Baggage Allowance Calculator

For Iberia flights, your carry-on must measure at most 56×45×25 cm and weigh no more than 10 kg — the sizer at the gate is the arbiter, not the check-in agent. Weigh your bag at home and budget a 0.5 kg margin for souvenirs: Iberia charges for every kilogram of checked weight beyond 23 kg.

A small personal item (purse, small backpack, laptop bag) is also permitted on Iberia provided it fits under the seat in front of you.

Checked baggage on Iberia (IB): each bag can weigh up to 23 kg (included in most fares). Additional bags cost $60 USD each on Iberia; bag dimensions should total no more than 158 cm (62 in) linear — most standard suitcases comply.

Bulky items like strollers, car seats and wheelchairs travel free in the hold on Iberia, and overweight charges kick in above 23 kg at $10 USD per additional kilogram.

Iberia charges $60 USD per additional checked bag beyond the first, and $10 USD per kilogram over the 23 kg limit. A 28 kg bag on Iberia's 23 kg allowance costs $50 in overweight charges alone — the table below compares that against simply adding a second bag at $60.

Pre-book additional bags online — airport-side rates on Iberia are 40–60% higher, and same-day changes at the counter may not be available at all.

Iberia treats sports equipment — skis, snowboards, golf clubs, surfboards, bicycles — as standard checked bags within the 23 kg weight limit, subject to the same per-bag fee. Musical instruments on Iberia: small instruments (violin, flute) can travel as carry-on if they fit the sizer; larger ones (cello, guitar) usually require a separate seat or checked handling in a hard case.

Assistive devices are always free on Iberia (IB): wheelchairs, scooters and walkers are accepted at the gate and returned aircraft-side wherever feasible.
